It's disrespectful not to acknowledge your nomination - Scott Evans blasts Team Eternity
Scott Evans has criticised gospel group Team Eternity
Ghanaian gospel musician, Scott Evans, has criticised gospel group Team Eternity Ghana for their lack of enthusiasm about their nominations at the just ended 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
In an interview on Hitz FM, Scott Evans expressed his disappointment, describing the group’s actions as disrespectful the awards scheme and the industry.
He said that while gospel musicians are focused on spreading the word of God, they are still part of the music industry and must respect the platforms that promote and recognise their work.
“In as much as we are doing ministry, we find ourselves in an industry, so we have to respect and acknowledge whatever the industry gives to us,” he said.
According to Scott Evans, Team Eternity Ghana’s failure to post or talk about their nominations during the build-up to the awards night shows a lack of appreciation.
He believes their behaviour sends the wrong message, especially at a time when they are receiving international recognition with their hit song Defe Defe.
“For me, I think it’s so disrespectful and it’s not right for them to get a nomination and not acknowledge it, not to post it,” he added.
Scott Evans also questioned what Team Eternity would do if they were not nominated in future editions of the awards or if the awards board decided to no longer support them.
“This is just your first global song and you’re behaving like this. What happens if you don’t get it again, or you get it again and they refuse to give you their time and platform? If you want the media to respect you, you also need to respect them,” he noted.
