Although here at Elemental we usually focus on the civilian use side of nuclear, we’re going to take a deep dive today on the current situation in Iran, with a special focus on assessing how close Iran is in fact to a nuclear weapons, and the prospects for stopping them by destroying it’s program physically, versus through diplomacy. IAEA Directorate General Rafael Mariano Grossi told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour: “We did not have any proof of a systematic effort to move into a nuclear weapon.” I can’t help but feel like it would have been helpful if DG Grossi made this clarification clearly with the report, before the bombs started falling. Or maybe he did but nobody cared.
