INTERVIEW: Leroy Sanchez

It’s my pleasure! 2025 has been quite intense and exciting honestly, and we’re not even half way through the year!

Thank you! I was in Miami making music for this album and one if the days me and my producers mike & Gio had to do a really late night session. It was also down pouring like crazy! You know, one of those Miami stormy nights. We all went to the live room and started playing some instruments and talking about life. One of the producers just had gone through a very difficult breakup and I had just had a “friend breakup”very recently.  So we started to talk about it, and we both really connected over the fact that we found ourselves wanting to go out and get wasted, but not for the fun of it, more for the “I want to not feel anything right now”. That’s how the song was born.

Thank you again! Sorry For The Chaos is a full length album (I can’t believe I’m even saying this…) and it’s about a first relationship where everything is going perfectly, so perfectly that you start to get in your head and become your own saboteur. It’s about the self realization that in a relationship you may be the chaotic one. They can expect a collection of pop songs that will take them through an emotional journey of love, break up and introspection.

is truly incredible. The album features a striking cover by Julian DakDouk (Beyonce, Lady Gaga). It includes contributions from talented songwriters and producers like Larzz (Dua Lipa, Tate McRae), Scott Nicholson (Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion), and Samantha Camara (Anitta, Rauw Alejandro). Other notable names include Nicki Adamsson (Charlie XCX), Charlotte Elio (also Charlie XCX), Dave Villa (Colbie Caillat), Lucas Santos (Anitta), and Mike & Gio (Prince Royce). The music videos are directed by Kyle Hanagami (BlackPink) and Anastasia Delmark (Dove Cameron), among others. Celia Martinez provides the spoken word intro for “Sorry For The Chaos”.

I honestly think there’s not a whole lot of guys out there singing and making pop music, and definitely no guys from Spain doing it in English!

Sorry For The Chaos, can fans look forward to catching you on the touring/performing circuit?

I’m working really hard to get some shows in the books. I can’t confirm anything yet but I hope I can soon!

7.) Nuclear was the first single to be released from the upcoming Sorry For The Chaos album. What made Nuclear the natural go-to as far as getting a single release? Do you feel that it tonally represents the album as a whole and gives listeners a real flavor as to what they can look forward to with the new album?

Nuclear was the perfect song to make my comeback with. It was strong, very melodic, very vocal heavy, and ultimately very me. It felt like the perfect way to re introduce myself and show the kind of music I’m doing now.

8.) Who are some of the folks both in and out of the world of music who have inspired you?

There are many artists and people out there that inspire me every day, but to name a few, I’ll say Ryan Tedder because of his incredible songwriting, Adele for her voice and sensibility, or Rosalía for her unique artistry and fearlessness.

9.) As a singer and songwriter, which generally tends to come first for you during the creative process: The lyrics or the music?

Depends on the day honestly. Sometimes I’ll grab my guitar and chords will come out first, then melodies and then lyrics. Other times I’ll have full lyrics written down and I try finding chords and melodies that fit them.

10.) At the end of the day, what do you hope listeners walk away with after giving many-a-spin to your new gem of an LP, Sorry For The Chaos?

I hope they feel moved, I hope they connect with at least one song, or one lyric, or one line, and that it helps them cope with whatever it is they’re dealing with. Music has always been so therapeutic for me and I hope it does the same to others.
