"I Never Retired": Former Winners Chapel Cleric Bishop Aremu Says, Speaks on Shiloh 2026

Published 6 hours ago4 minute read

Bishop Thomas Aremu, who was retired from his role by Winners Chapel in October 2024, has stated that he never retired from the church.

The cleric said this while answering questions on his retirement and Shiloh 2026 during a recent revival meeting at Eminent Church in Canada.

The cleric, who played an important role in the church's development and was a former accountant before he ventured into full-time ministry, commented on his farewell service as he pledged loyalty to the Bishop Oyedepo-led commission.

Before now, Bishop Aremu had affirmed loyalty to Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel.

When the interviewer asked Bishop Aremu if he was back from retirement, he dismissed it, saying the valedictory service was a social ceremony. His response partly read:

"I never retired. The one you see on YouTube is just a social ceremony. Let me call it secular ceremony, which is done in any organisation. But when you check after that, you will know those who have actually retired and those who have not.
"So, that is what the ear suggested. And it remains the one that it is suggested to to accept or refuse. If you take note from that valedictory service, I told them I am not going anywhere. I am sure all of you that listened to the valedictory hear it very well. I said, I am not going nowhere. I will remain in the Winners family for life.
There is a secular servant-master relationship. That is that one that is being put to an end. But, that's not for a partaker. I have crossed over from being a worker to a partaker. A partaker serves for life.
"So, wherever you see me, I will live to work and defend this commission..."

When asked if he would be at Shiloh 2026, Bishop Aremu replied:

"I wouldn't know the exact circumstances, situation or the nation I would be that time. So, if I say I would be there and you don't see me, that would what, make me a liar.
"Well, if God wants me to be there, I will be there."

Bishop Aremu's interview at Eminent Church was published on YouTube by Emeka Anselem, and it got people talking.

"This interview really got me. Yes, I'm also a partaker and belong to the Winner's family for life! Some of us who have been with Bishop Oyedepo as staff of the WMA were 🎉told by Papa that we are missionaries for life and that missionaries don't retire. This Papa's message keeps ringing in my ears. Congratulations once more, Daddy Aremu, for letting the world know that workers of the WMA and Living Faith Church can retire, partakers don't as they are missionaries from the Winners family for life!❤🎉 "

"Instead of asking questions like what made him so thick. How do we serve effectively in a generation where servanthood is being swept under the carpet. Well, thank you for this one sha."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Bishop Oyedepo's son had sent a message to Bishop Aremu and Bishop Aboye following their retirement from their roles in the church.

"Congratulations, Sir, on your Valedictory Service! Your stewardship over the years has been exemplary," Oyedepo Jr., son of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), told Bishop Abioye.
"As it has been declared, greater days lay ahead as you step into this phase of post retirement service in Jesus Name!" he wrote.
