I’m A Celebrity: South Africa Returns with Live UK Final for First Time

The second installment of“I’m A Celebrity: South Africa”, an all-star spin-off of the popular ITVreality series, is officially underway, following the significant success of its 2023 predecessor. This new edition promises an exciting twist compared to the previous pre-recorded format that saw Myleene Klass crowned “legend”. For the first time in the All Stars version, the series will conclude with a live final held in the UK, granting viewers the opportunity to vote for their chosen winner.
Presenters Ant and Dec, alongside ITV bosses, have confirmed this significant change, enhancing viewer engagement. Filming has already commenced in the scenic landscapes of South Africa, with a core group of ten well-known returning contestants already confirmed, and the possibility of additional stars joining the line-up.
According to reports from The Mirror, this season's confirmed cast is a captivating mix of past finalists, fan favourites, and personalities with intriguing backstories. Among them is David Haye, the former boxing champion who made it to the final three in 2012, the year Charlie Brooksultimately won. Haye has since garnered attention for openly embracing a throuple, a personal detail expected to pique the interest of both his fellow campmates and the viewing public.

Also returning is Gemma Collins, famously known as “The GC”. Her initial foray into the jungle in 2014 was short-lived, as she departed after just three days due to personal problems. Her memorable exit became one of the show’s most talked-about moments, and fans are eager to see if she can endure the challenges this time around. Harry Redknapp, the much-loved former football manager, returns after stealing the nation’s heart in 2018 with his charming anecdotes about his wife Sandra and his particular fondness for jam roly-poly. That series saw him crowned the oldest King of the Jungle in the show’s history, and his comeback is set to bring warmth and a sense of nostalgia.
Comedian Seann Walsh, who finished fifth in the 2023 series, is also rejoining. He remains perhaps best known for the controversy surrounding his appearance on “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2018, when he was photographed kissing his married dance partner, Katya Jones, while in a relationship. Viewers can anticipate candid campfire conversations from him. Scarlett Moffatt, crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2016 for her down-to-earth humour, is back with a fresh perspective as a new mother. The former “Gogglebox” star’s Geordie wit is expected to be as strong an asset as ever.
Adam Thomas, the actor and reality TV personality, also featured in the 2016 series, finishing third behind Scarlett Moffatt. With a substantial track record in reality television, his competitive spirit will undoubtedly be put to the test once more in the South African wilderness. Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah competed in 2020 and has since shared the powerful and remarkable story of his childhood, revealing that “Mo” is not his real name and that he was trafficked to the UK under a false identity.

Ashley Roberts, the Pussycat Dolls singer, was the runner-up to Charlie Brooks in 2012, appearing in the same series as David Haye. Known for her extensive connections within the entertainment world, including a past romance with “Strictly” starGiovanni Pernice, she is expected to inject both glamour and potential gossip into the camp dynamics. Sinitta, the singer and television personality long associated with Simon Cowell, first entered the jungle in 2011, where she was the second celebrity to be voted out. She will be hoping for a more favourable reception in her second opportunity.
Finally, Craig Charles, the beloved “Coronation Street” actor and BBC Radio 6 Music DJ, had a particularly difficult and truncated jungle journey in 2014, leaving just four days into the show after receiving the tragic news of his brother Dean’s death. His return provides him with a poignant chance to complete his journey under happier and more fulfilling circumstances. While Ant and Dec are keeping further details closely guarded, the confirmed line-up already guarantees a season rich with diverse personalities, compelling histories, and plenty of entertainment.
