after his name was dragged into the It Ends With Us drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Reynolds was named in the $400 million lawsuit filed by Baldoni. Many observers, including controversial political commentator Candace Owens, accused the actor of being the true villain in the entire drama.
However, that doesn’t stop his best friend Hugh Jackman from showering his love on him at the Saturn Awards. Jackman, who couldn’t appear in person at the awards ceremony, expressed his gratitude for the Best Supporting Actor via a video message. He shared that his first award in the U.S. was a Saturn Award for X-Men 25 years ago.
He further delved into the supporting actor role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Jackman shared that beyond the traditional sense, he was also able to support everyone around him. He mentioned Reynolds and director Shawn Levy in particular, adding that he was not going to slide in a joke about his co-star. He shared (via @jackmanslanding/IG):
And I know traditionally what supporting actor means but for me, what I loved the most about this film was being able to support everyone around me. In particular, two men. That’s Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy. And I know you’re expecting a joke from me about Ryan but I’m not gonna give it to you.
He further called his co-star and his director “the leaders and the engine and the driving force” behind the film. It should be assumed that Jackman refused to joke about him as he tried to respect Reynolds’ difficult time amidst the lawsuit.
The Green Lantern actor shared Jackman’s video alongside the pic of the film winning the Best Action/Adventure Film at the Saturn Awards. The film also grabbed the Best Editing award.

When Hugh Jackman kicked off his From New York, With Love concert tour at Radio City, Ryan Reynolds was there to sing praises of him. Jackman is set to perform at 24 stages over the course of eight weekends in 2025. He will perform songs from his stage and screen roles, including Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman, and The Music Man.
Reynolds brought in his signature comedy style when he took the stage to honor Jackman. He joked, “I was told this was going to be a comedy version of Les Mis as a one-man show. We all said it was a terrible idea but he carried on. I see he’s duped me once again!” (via People).
He later shared how Jackman was a great person on the set of their first film together, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He shared:
I saw a movie star, a capital M movie star… I saw this gentleman right here walk around that set, and just like here, he knew every single person’s name, even though he was making them up half the time. He showed a kind of courtesy and gentleness and curiosity, and he put value into every single crew member that we were working with.
However, the appearance comes at a time when Reynolds is entangled in the Justin Baldoni-Blake Lively controversy. Reynolds is receiving hate for his alleged involvement in the feud.
