How the Lions' 2025 NFL schedule compares to rest of the NFC North

That means the Detroit Lions and their division rivals are looking at a gauntlet of a schedule in 2025 to go with their six intra-division matchups.

All four NFC North teams are in the top-5 for strength of schedule using opponents’ combined 2024 winning percentage with the Lions and Chicago Bears tied for second hardest the league (.571).

Here’s a comparison of each team’s schedule with key matchups, difficult stretches and more of MLive’s coverage from this week of action.

Prime-time games: Week 3 -- at Baltimore Ravens (Monday Night Football), Week 6 -- at Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday Night Football), Week 7 -- vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Monday Night Football), Week 11 -- at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday Night Football), Week 14 -- vs. Dallas Cowboys (Thursday Night Football)

Toughest stretch: Weeks 6-11 -- at Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday Night Football) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Monday Night Football), BYE WEEK, vs. Minnesota Vikings, at Washington Commanders and at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday Night Football)

Favorable weeks: Weeks 12-14 -- The Lions only have five opponents that didn’t make the playoffs last season. That makes it tough to pick out an easy stretch. But let’s take a look right after the tough run from Week 6-11. Detroit will get three straight home games against two teams expected to miss the postseason in the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. Those games will sandwich a Thanksgiving matchup with the Green Bay Packers. That’ll be a highlight divisional game, but being at home gives them an edge during this run.
