How Should One Let Go Of Their Ego And Awaken Their Higher Self?
How to let go of ego and become a more evolved human being? This is a very interesting and a commonly-asked question worldwide. Every human being has ego, but some of life's greatest miseries are created by it. In the journey of spiritual awakening, however, one of the most transformative shifts is enlightening the ego, says . He adds that ego gives birth to anger, hate, revenge, and jealousy, and makes life miserable.
"The ego is a product of the mind -- a mind that does not exist. It is a bundle of toxic thoughts. The mind is our biggest enemy, as it gives rise to a number of negative emotions and at the same time, gives birth to ego that says, 'I, me and mine.' The ego can either make us or break us," he says.
The expert states that our existence is because of our body and with it, the ego that says 'I', 'me' and 'mine'. "We are individuals, who come to the planet for a purpose. We are powered by a unique soul. We talk of how the ego is inflated and ugly, but we do not have a choice. The ego is 'I' and will exist, from birth till the moment of the body's death. Many people think the purpose of life is to kill the ego, or to destroy it. But, we cannot. I will be 'I' till I die but I do not have to suffer and cry if only I can realise who I really am in reality. The only way is to be enlightened. When the ego is enlightened, we realise the truth of our identity: we are not the body, mind and ego that we appear to be. We are the divine 'soul', the 'spark of unique life'," he explains.
According to the happiness ambassador, awakening to a higher self is enlightening our ego. It can be achieved by doing the following things:
The spiritual leader says that the realisation of the truth is the purpose of every human being born on this planet. It is about going beyond the ego and awakening the higher self. "This awakening involves moving beyond the ego -- the limited, fear-based identity shaped by external influences -- and connecting to the deeper, eternal essence within. The higher self represents wisdom, compassion, intuition and alignment with universal truth. Stepping beyond the ego is not about rejecting the self, but transcending its illusions to embrace a more expansive consciousness," he explains.
