Hollywood Havoc: Tom Holland Concussed On Set, Spider-Man Production Grinds To Halt

Hollywood star Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, has taken a two-week break from filming the latest installment of the franchise after suffering a concussion on set. Insiders confirmed that work on the film has been temporarily suspended to allow Holland to recover from a bump to the head, caused by a snapped line on a pull ring. Filming was originally set to resume in London but has been postponed, with the production team advised to stand down. Sources close to the British actor emphasize caution, stating that while the accident wasn't severe, prioritizing his recovery from a suspected concussion is paramount. This minor setback is not expected to impact the film's scheduled release date of July 31 next year, with producers focused on ensuring Holland is back to his best.
The upcoming movie, previously revealed to be titled 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' initially commenced production in Glasgow, which was transformed to resemble New York. The filming then moved to Pinewood Studios in London. After this unforeseen delay, Holland, alongside his fiancée and co-star Zendaya, is slated to begin work in the capital early next month. The news of the production halt due to Holland's injury was first reported earlier in the week, and his father, Dominic Holland, confirmed the accident at a charity dinner, stating his son would be away from filming "for a while." Despite the health scare, Tom Holland was seen supporting his siblings at the 3rd Annual Brothers Trust Posh Pub Quiz, with a snap of him and Zendaya shared from the black-tie event.
In other entertainment news, Love Island host Maya Jama has celebrated her most financially successful year to date, reportedly cashing in £2.5 million from a combination of brand deals and television engagements. Her company, MIJ & Co Entertainment, has seen its assets surge by £800,000 to £2.6 million, though she paid £570,326 in tax. ITV executives are reportedly keen to retain Jama, with offers rumored to be worth nearly £2 million annually, amidst competitive bids from streaming giants like Netflix. Furthermore, her beauty venture, MIJ Masks, has also flourished, with net assets rising by £75,000 from 2023 to reach £313,381, reflecting booming sales and a nearly 25 percent profit increase last year. Currently "loved up" with Portuguese footballer Ruben Dias, Jama's career trajectory hints at potential future endeavors in Hollywood.
Meanwhile, rapper A$AP Rocky has shared his heartfelt desire for a baby girl as he and Rihanna prepare for the arrival of their third child. Speaking to Elle magazine, he expressed, "I hope it’s a girl. We’re praying for a girl. I feel like it’s going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two." The couple are already parents to sons Rza and Riot, and have openly prioritized their growing family over their music careers. Rihanna's last album, 'Anti,' was released in 2016, while A$AP Rocky's 'Testing' came out in 2018. Jokingly acknowledging their fans' impatience for new music, he quipped about their shared predicament, stating Rihanna's solution is being "pregnant most of the time."
Music icon Robbie Williams is set to embark on his most intimate tour yet, following an overwhelming response to his upcoming gig at Dingwalls in Camden. The demand for the North London venue's 500-capacity show, where he plans to perform his 1997 album 'Life Thru A Lens' and his new record 'Britpop' in full, has prompted him to schedule a mini UK tour. Williams expressed his excitement, promising "More dates, more music" in response to the "incredible response." The release of his 13th studio album, 'Britpop,' was previously delayed until next year over concerns that Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl' might jeopardize his record-breaking No. 1 streak. These upcoming intimate performances are expected to delight his dedicated fanbase.
Fans of the beloved sitcom 'Absolutely Fabulous' were treated to a reunion as Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley appeared together at Burberry’s London Fashion Week show on Monday evening. The iconic duo, who played Patsy and Eddie, sat front row, evoking memories of their showbiz characters. Nearly a decade after the feature-length film marked the end of the BBC favorite, the actresses were reportedly on their best behavior, abstaining from their characters' notorious champagne-downing and catwalk-crashing antics.
Finally, former Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has candidly discussed the profound impact of the end of her friendship with Jesy Nelson, likening the experience to "losing a limb." Edwards revealed her devastation when Nelson departed from Little Mix at the close of 2020 without informing the other members, and the two have not spoken since. In an interview with Glamour UK, Edwards spoke about her upcoming song, "Same Place, Different View," which addresses this difficult period. She highlighted the rarity of conversations about friendships breaking down, despite their significant emotional toll. Describing their intense closeness – living "in each other’s pockets" and being "the best of friends" – Edwards admitted that adapting to life without Nelson was incredibly challenging. While acknowledging some "home truths" in the song, she also emphasized an element of hope.
