Hip-Hop Royalty Takes Over NBA Finals: Wu-Tang Clan to Perform at Game 4 Showdown

Legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan appears poised to perform the halftime show for game four of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, June 10, at Madison Square Garden. Multiple reports, including confirmation from a source to Rolling Stone and a prior report by Page Six, indicate the iconic crew will be returning to the Big Apple for the NBA Finals, marking the first time the event has been in New York City since 1999 when the New York Knicks last faced the San Antonio Spurs.

Wu-Tang Clan's official Instagram also hinted at the performance, sharing a post on its Story captioned "Bring Da Hive Knicks in 5." While the specific members of the group who will perform remain unconfirmed, Method Man, a well-known Knicks fan and frequent courtside attendee at MSG, previously energized the crowd during the halftime show of game two of the Eastern Conference Finals in May, when the Knicks decisively defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The group's performance comes during a break in their "Wu-Tang: The Final Chamber" tour. This farewell trek is scheduled to resume its North American leg in August, with stops planned in cities such as Atlantic City, Kansas City, Cincinnati, Toronto, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas, culminating in a final show on October 4 in Phoenix.

Looking ahead, 2026 is set to be a significant year for the Staten Island-based collective, as Wu-Tang Clan is slated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November, joining the performers category in the class of '26. This follows their induction into Billboard's Hip-Hop Hall of Fame in 2025. The Wu-Tang Clan will follow Cardi B, who performed at halftime of game three of the NBA Finals at MSG on Monday, June 8. As of game four, the Knicks hold a 2-1 lead in the series.
