Hilda Baci vs Seyi Vibez: Chef Issues Legal Warning, Singer Deletes Posts Amidst Defamation Claims
Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has issued a legal warning to musician Seyi Vibez over defamatory posts. This action follows Seyi Vibez's allegations concerning Dapper Music funds and Baci's personal life, leading to the musician deleting the posts but yet to issue a public apology.
Celebrity Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has initiated legal proceedings against musician Seyi Vibez, issuing a stern warning following defamatory posts made by the singer. The dispute arose amidst an online controversy where Seyi Vibez, along with former Dapper Music signees Shallipopi and T.I Blaze, publicly accused their former record label owner, Damilola Akinwunmi (famously known as Dapper), of royalty issues and allegations of N1 billion in missing funds.
During the heated online exchange on the platform X, Seyi Vibez targeted Hilda Baci, who is Dapper’s girlfriend. The singer alleged that Dapper had used their music catalogue money to fund Hilda Baci’s Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Furthermore, Seyi Vibez claimed that Hilda Baci’s food had almost caused him harm, stating it “nearly killed him.”
Reacting swiftly to these grave accusations, Hilda Baci, through her legal representatives, dispatched a formal warning letter to Seyi Vibez. The letter explicitly accused the musician of libel and defamation. It demanded the immediate removal and permanent deletion of all referenced publications, along with any other related statements, posts, comments, images, videos, and reposts across all his social media accounts. Additionally, the letter mandated a clear and unequivocal public apology and retraction regarding the offending publications, to be prominently and contemporaneously published across all his social media platforms. Seyi Vibez was given three days from the receipt of the letter to provide a written undertaking confirming he would cease and desist from publishing or communicating any further defamatory content concerning Hilda Baci.
Following the legal threat, DAILY POST confirmed that Seyi Vibez has deleted all the contentious posts about Hilda Baci from his social media accounts. However, as of the latest reports, the musician has yet to issue the demanded public apology. The background to this conflict includes Seyi Vibez’s professional relationship with Dapper Music; he was signed to the label in 2022 and declared himself an “Independent artist” in September 2024.
