High-Stakes Assessment: Group to Grade Tinubu, Akpabio's Impact on Governance

Project Victory Call Initiative (PVC-Naija), a non-governmental organization focused on political advocacy and education, is dedicated to engaging with electorates across Nigeria. The platform aims to assess and measure the impact of governance under the current political leadership, specifically targeting figures such as President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, among others. According to a statement from its president, Paula Bellgam, PVC-Naija is committed to rethinking Nigeria, reinventing politics, remodelling leadership, and redefining governance.

The core objectives of PVC-Naija include erasing dividing lines, fostering unity, and empowering citizens towards comprehensive nation-building. Its vision is to establish a new Nigeria characterized by credible, responsible, and responsive leadership and citizenry. To achieve this, the organization's mission involves enlightening and sensitizing Nigerians about their political responsibilities, thereby ensuring the emergence of credible leaders who will promote accountable governance. Key objectives also encompass establishing direct engagement with electorates seeking positive change, positioning citizens as decisive stakeholders in Nigeria’s power dynamics, and driving electoral victories that uphold the ideology of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

As part of its initiatives, PVC-Naija organizes 'A Night 4 Naija,' a national recognition and award ceremony designed to honor leaders, advocates, and change agents who have significantly contributed to Nigeria’s growth and democratic development. This prestigious event is scheduled to be held in Abuja on December 14. The 2025 edition of 'A Night 4 Naija' features 15 distinct award categories, ensuring a balanced representation across Nigeria's geopolitical zones: South East, South South, South West, North West, North East, and North Central. The only exception to this broad representation is the Best FCT Minister Category, as the South East has historically not produced an FCT Minister.

The Nomination Committee for 'A Night 4 Naija 2025' was chaired by Simon Imobo-Tswam, a distinguished public intellectual and media professional, with journalist Ifeoma Nkem serving as Secretary. This committee, guided by media recommendations and Independent Media Governance Assessment Reports from May 2024 to May 2025, received submissions in June and July 2025. Following a thorough screening process conducted in August and September 2025, the List of Media Nominees was officially released on October 1, 2025. Public voting for the awards is set to commence on October 15, 2025, and will conclude on November 30, 2025. Each vote costs ₦100, aimed at ensuring accessibility and encouraging citizen-driven participation, with the voting link to be announced soon on the group’s website, pvc-naija.com.ng.

Among the diverse award categories are: Political Icon of the Year 2025, Political Icon of the People Award, Development/Change Agent (recognizing Nigerians outside public governance), Governor of the Year 2025 (assessed on Security, Education, and Agriculture – SEA), Senator of the Year 2025, House of Representatives Member, State Legislator, and Local Government Chairman of the Year 2025 (exclusively for elected chairmen).
