Heartbreak for Snoop Dogg: Rapper Shares Emotional Message After Granddaughter's Death

The family of legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is in mourning following the tragic death of 10-month-old Codi Dreaux, the infant daughter of his youngest child, Cori Broadus. Codi passed away on January 26, just 20 days after being discharged from an extended stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Cori Broadus expressed her profound grief on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself holding her baby with the heartbreaking caption, "Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi." Wayne Deuce, Codi's father and Cori's fiancé, also paid tribute to their daughter on social media, writing, "I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you."
Snoop Dogg conveyed his support for his grieving daughter through a family photo posted on Instagram on Saturday, January 31. The image, which included Cori, was captioned with a sparkling heart emoji and folded hands emoji. While he did not include a written statement, fans and followers filled the comments with an outpouring of condolences and prayers for the Broadus family, acknowledging the implicit message of support. It was noted that, at the time of the original publication, Snoop Dogg had not made an explicit public comment on his granddaughter’s passing, but his social media gesture resonated deeply.
Codi Dreaux's life began with significant challenges. Cori Broadus announced her daughter's birth last February, revealing that she had gone into labor prematurely at just 25 weeks. "The princess arrived at 6 months," Broadus wrote at the time, openly sharing her emotional struggle. She admitted to crying, comparing her situation to others, and blaming herself for not being able to provide all that Codi needed, yet concluded with faith, "But no matter what God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far."
Throughout Codi’s journey, Cori frequently updated her followers on her daughter's progress. She celebrated Codi's return home from the hospital in a January 6 Instagram post, expressing immense gratitude: "She’s home. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all." During NICU Awareness Month in September, Broadus reflected on her experience, stating, "Becoming a NICU mom was not part of the plan, but it became part of my story. I carry my little warrior’s strength with me every day." The family continues to receive widespread support and condolences during this difficult time.
