Heartbreak for Sharon Osbourne as Jack reveals devastating update on grief for Ozzy
Sharon Osbourne is grappling with profound grief following the passing of her beloved husband, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, at the age of 76. Ozzy, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away in July just weeks after a final farewell concert organized by Sharon. The couple had recently returned to their Buckinghamshire home, intending to enjoy Ozzy's retirement in the tranquility of the countryside. However, his health took a rapid downturn after the concert, leading to his death at home.
Her son, Jack Osbourne, has provided insights into his mother's struggle, revealing in a recent interview that she is “OK, but she’s not OK.” Sharon, who was married to Ozzy for over four decades, has largely retreated from the public eye to mourn privately, though her children attest to the depth of her sorrow. She was last seen tearful and emotional at a public memorial for Ozzy in Birmingham, and later, in a video with her daughter Kelly, expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming love and support from fans, which she admitted had carried her through many nights as she tried to find her footing.
In a poignant testament to their enduring bond, Ozzy himself believed that his marriage to Sharon was the very reason for his longevity and success. Days before his death, in the documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” he stated, “If it wasn't for Sharon Osbourne, I wouldn't be here now. I would definitely not have the success I have. I wouldn't be sober. I'd be six foot under without a shadow of a doubt.” He reflected on his survival compared to many friends who succumbed to similar struggles, attributing his continued existence to having Sharon by his side.
Ozzy also hinted at his complex relationship with sobriety in his unfinished memoir, writing, “If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I had done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.” Jack Osbourne acknowledged some truth to this claim but clarified that his father was indeed clean and sober at the end of his life, and still very much himself. In the years leading up to his death, Ozzy faced numerous health challenges, including a significant fall in February 2019 and a Parkinson's disease diagnosis, which took a heavy toll on Sharon, as described by their daughter Kelly, who witnessed her mother's heartbreak while caring for Ozzy through grueling operations.
Now, Sharon faces a difficult personal decision regarding her future residence. She must choose between remaining alone in the Buckinghamshire mansion she lovingly renovated for their retirement, or returning to Los Angeles to be closer to her family. Jack has voiced concerns about her potential isolation if she stays in the UK, away from her beloved grandchildren. A source close to the family echoed these sentiments, lamenting that Sharon’s world has been “torn apart,” as the plans she and Ozzy had for their life together were tragically left unfulfilled.
