Gucci Mane Reveals Past Peacemaking with Drake and Young Thug!

Veteran rapper Gucci Mane, with over two decades in the music industry, recently reflected on the various facets of his career and personal growth during an appearance on the Big Facts podcast. A significant part of his discussion revolved around the importance of apologies and forgiveness, particularly concerning past feuds with fellow artists Drake and Young Thug.

Guwop recounted a pivotal moment when he reached out to Drake to apologize for a volatile Twitter tirade in 2013, during which he took shots at the Toronto rapper. Despite the public nature of the outburst, Drake graciously accepted Gucci Mane's apology. This reconciliation paved the way for their collaboration in 2016, following Gucci Mane's release from prison, notably on tracks like “Both.” Gucci expressed deep appreciation for those who understood his struggles, acknowledging, “It felt so good that people understood.”

A decade later, Gucci Mane has extended that same understanding and grace to Young Thug. Following a leaked jail call where Thugger allegedly referred to Gucci Mane as “soft” for maintaining a relationship with Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas amidst snitching allegations, Young Thug released an apology track titled “I Miss My Dogs.” Gucci Mane stated that he “immediately accepted the apology” from Young Thug, drawing parallels to his own past experiences where he sought and received forgiveness. He emphasized the emotional weight lifted when someone offers understanding, remarking, “It’s like a weight on you, you want somebody like, ‘Bro, it’s OK.’ … I forgive him.” While Gucci Mane confirmed he has not seen Young Thug since the leaked call or the song's release, he anticipates that their relationship will return to normalcy.

In celebration of 10/17 Day, Gucci Mane recently released his new album, “Episodes,” on Friday, October 17th. This album was preceded by the launch of his “Episodes” book earlier in the same week, further chronicling his journey and experiences in the rap game.
