GTA 6 Heartbreak: Highly Anticipated Release Pushed to Late 2026!

Grand Theft Auto 6, the highly anticipated next installment in the iconic series, has unfortunately faced further delays, pushing its release date to November 19, 2026. This announcement from developer Rockstar Games marks another shift from its initial target of a 2025 release, which was subsequently adjusted to May 26, 2026. The prolonged wait for GTA 6 is particularly notable given the significant gap since the last main entry, Grand Theft Auto V, which launched in September 2013. This 13-year hiatus represents the longest interval between releases in the franchise's history, intensifying fan anticipation.
The upcoming title promises an immersive experience set in the fictional state of Leonida. Within this expansive world, players will recognize and return to the beloved titular metropolis of Vice City, a location famously featured in 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. A key innovation in GTA 6 will allow players to control two distinct protagonists: the criminal duo of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, as they navigate their adventures across Leonida.
The immense success of its predecessor further underscores the high expectations for GTA 6. As of 2025, Grand Theft Auto V holds the impressive distinction of being the second-highest-selling video game of all time. Publisher Take-Two Interactive has reported staggering sales figures, with the game having moved an astounding 220 million units globally. This historical performance sets a high bar for the new release, despite the extended development period and multiple delays.
