Grocery Haul Horrors: Mum's 'Diabetes-Inducing' Cart Shocks the Internet!

A mother-of-three, known on TikTok as @boymomx3_b, has ignited a social media firestorm after sharing a massive grocery haul intended for her three sons and her parents, who recently moved in with her. The 37-year-old, who works full time and resides in North Carolina, visited four different stores to amass her substantial provisions. However, the sheer quantity and type of items, particularly the heavy reliance on processed foods, led to brutal criticism from viewers, prompting the video to go viral with over 5 million views.
The centerpiece of the controversial shopping trip was a staggering 32 frozen pizzas, so numerous they almost towered over her in the video, with the mother even remarking that she had cleared the frozen aisle of the popular dish. Beyond pizzas, the haul included more than a dozen (specifically 14) blocks of various cheeses, nine large bottles of sugary fizzy drinks, two big jars of mayonnaise, multiple packs of Oreos, and additional sugary cereals. Other items further highlighting the processed nature of the groceries were two large boxes of mini brownies, a huge pack of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, a big box of Oatmeal Cream Pies, various cereal bars, and five big bags of frozen fries.
In stark contrast to the vast array of processed and high-sugar items, the fresh produce section of her haul was notably sparse. It consisted of just two cucumbers, one head of lettuce, a bag of grapes, a bunch of bananas, and a huge watermelon. This significant imbalance between fresh and processed foods became a central point of contention for many viewers.
The mother also revealed the total cost of her shopping spree, which amounted to $476.68 (approximately £352.33). She noted that this was "a little bit less than last time" and commented in her caption, "Why do groceries have to cost so much." While she expressed concern over the expense, TikTok users were far more aghast at what they perceived as a "diabetes-inducing" diet being provided for her family.
The backlash was swift and severe, with thousands slamming the mother's choices. Comments poured in, with one user exclaiming, "NINEEEE bottles of soda THIRTY TWOO pizzas and like two cucumbers is wild." Another user bluntly stated, "Diabetes is around the corner," while a third expressed disbelief, writing, "i cannot imagine living like this." Several commenters specifically highlighted the minimal fresh produce relative to the overall spend, with one person noting, "You spent nearly $500 on groceries, and only bought 6 pieces of fresh produce," and another adding, "You bought more bottles of dr pepper than you did vegetables." In response to the wave of criticism, the mother offered a simple and defiant message to her detractors: "Don’t watch then."
