Grammy Nominees The War and Treaty Set to Stir Hearts with 'God Bless America' at Wrestlepalooza!

WWE is set to host its inaugural premium live event, Wrestlepalooza, on Saturday, September 20, in Indianapolis. This highly anticipated spectacle will feature a special performance by the Grammy-nominated duo, The War and Treaty, who are slated to sing “God Bless America” before the main event kicks off.
Michael Trotter Jr. of The War and Treaty expressed immense excitement about this opportunity in an exclusive interview with Billboard. He shared his lifelong admiration for WWE, stating, “In my head, I’m a character on the WWE roster. Hell, I have been since the early ’80s.” Trotter Jr. also praised WWE's responsiveness to its audience and highlighted the profound significance of their performance amidst current societal tensions. He emphasized their desire to use the song as a unifying prayer during a time when “violence continues to escalate and dominate headlines,” viewing it as a plea for unity and peace in the country.
Tanya Trotter, Michael’s wife and the other half of the duo, echoed his enthusiasm, noting their joy in joining the “WWE family.” She specifically mentioned the significance of their involvement with WWE's newest promotion alongside ESPN, hinting at future collaborations and even playfully suggesting a potential foray into the wrestling ring herself. “Who knows? Maybe, I’ll get in the ring and slap a chick or three,” she remarked.
This event marks a continuation of WWE's significantly expanded relationship with music artists throughout the year. The wrestling giant has increasingly integrated popular musicians into its premium live events and programming, with notable appearances from artists such as Travis Scott, Cardi B, and Jelly Roll. With WWE's new partnership with ESPN, the trend is expected to grow, bringing more artists into the fold for performances or even direct involvement in the action. Fans can tune in to catch WWE’s Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, September 20, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN Unlimited.
