Grades for each Big 12 Basketball player taken in 2025 NBA Draft

Published 14 hours ago2 minute read

Historically, the Kansas Jayhawks have consistently led the Big 12 in sending players to the NBA. However, it was the Baylor Bears who had the top NBA Draft pick in 2024, with Ja’Kobe Walters getting picked No. 19 overall by the Toronto Raptors.

One again, Baylor had the top draft pick from the Big 12. But there were two others from the conference picked in the lottery. Here’s a look at all of the draft picks from the conference.

The 6’5 guard/wing was the Big 12 Basketball Rookie of the Year and an elite scorer. He joins Jared McCain and Tyrese Maxey in becoming one of the top future backcourts in the Eastern Conference. It also allows them to play the declining Paul George fewer minutes and gives them more depth as well.

Despite some of the ups and downs, the Nets still wanted Demin in the top 10. The 6'9 "ball-handler could be better suited for the NBA instead of college, but this is a franchise whose direction is unclear. We’ll see if they surround him with good talent, but on paper, this is a fine pick for a team that lacks a PG.

The 6’8 wing is a high-ceiling pick for the Spurs, who had already selected Dylan Harper at No. 2. While Bryant had limited production at Arizona, the wing was the area of need for the Spurs, and he was the best option available.

The Grizzlies have Ja Morant as their lead guard, but between injuries and suspensions, he hasn’t been as reliable. There’s just as much of a need for a good backup with Marcus Smart now gone. Small can compete with Scotty Pippen Jr. for minutes there and showed he can carry a team, as he did at WVU.
