The Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Hassan Tampuli, has alleged that the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo is part of a broader, politically motivated strategy to reshape the judiciary from the top down.

In an interview on June 28, Mr. Tampuli accused elements within the current political leadership of deliberately pursuing a campaign promise to “purge” the judiciary.
