Gorton Fatal Crash: Two Young Lives Lost, Suspect Named by Police
A fatal crash on Gorton's A57 Hyde Road claimed the lives of Jack Cartwright and Natasha Denman. Apollo Simms, 26, has been charged with two counts of death by dangerous driving and failing to provide a sample for analysis in connection with the incident.
A fatal car crash occurred on the A57 Hyde Road in Gorton at approximately 9:35 PM on August 5. Emergency services responded to the scene, near the junction with Clumber Road, after a Skoda Fabia collided with a stationary digger. Four individuals were inside the car at the time of the incident, according to a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson.
Tragically, a young man and woman, identified as 23-year-old Jack Cartwright and 24-year-old Natasha Denman, died at the scene. Two other men in the car sustained serious injuries and were subsequently taken to the hospital. Both were arrested, though one was later released on bail.
In connection with the crash, Apollo Simms, a 26-year-old man from Tealby Road, Manchester, has been charged. He faces two counts of death by dangerous driving and one count of failing to provide a sample for analysis. Simms was scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on August 11.
