Google Unleashes AI Image Generation, Virtual Assistant in Chrome Browser!
Google is pushing Chrome into a new phase by deeply integrating advanced artificial intelligence tools aimed at transforming how users interact with the web. The update introduces AI-powered image generation and editing, alongside a virtual assistant designed to simplify everyday online tasks and boost productivity. This move reflects Google’s broader strategy of embedding AI across its ecosystem to enhance user experience and maintain its dominance in digital services.
One of the headline additions is Nano Banana, Google’s AI image generator and editor, now available to logged-in desktop Chrome users in the United States. By placing this tool directly inside the world’s most popular browser, Google is accelerating the shift toward AI-driven content creation, further blurring the line between authentic photographs and digitally generated or altered images.
Chrome will also feature a new AI assistant accessible via a side panel, allowing users to complete tasks while continuing to browse. For subscribers to Google’s AI Pro and Ultra plans, an “auto browse” feature expands these capabilities further, enabling the AI to log into websites, shop on the user’s behalf, and draft social media posts. Crucially, users retain final control, as purchases must be completed manually and AI-generated posts require approval before publishing.
All these features are powered by Google’s Gemini 3 model, which is already being embedded across Alphabet’s services, including Gmail and Search, and has contributed to the company surpassing a $4 trillion market valuation. The Chrome AI rollout comes shortly after a federal judge rejected a U.S. Justice Department effort to force Google to sell the browser, partly citing AI’s role in reshaping competition. As rivals like OpenAI and Perplexity launch their own AI-powered browsers, Google’s aggressive AI expansion signals an intensifying battle for the future of web navigation.
