Gombe Central Senate Shocker: Goje Cries 'Fake Result' as Rival Clinches APC Ticket

Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, a long-serving representative for Gombe Central Senatorial District, has reportedly lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the fifth term. In a direct primary election held in Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas, the two LGAs comprising the district, DCP Mohammed Ahmed (Rtd) was declared the winner. The Returning Officer of the Election, Dr Habu Dahiru, announced that DCP Ahmed secured 42,785 votes, while Senator Goje polled 10,425 votes. Ahmed had previously been selected as the consensus candidate of the APC for the Senate seat in Gombe Central.

He noted the enthusiasm among party members and residents for stronger representation at the National Assembly, specifically mentioning a desire for Yamaltu-Deba to have a more prominent voice nationally. Ahmed emphasized that his ambition was driven by the people's desire for a new direction, not to deny anyone the right to contest.

However, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje has vehemently rejected the outcome of the primary election, labeling the circulated results as fake. In a statement issued by his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, Senator Goje asserted that the official result of the direct primary election for the district is yet to be concluded and formally announced. He highlighted that despite the absence of an official declaration, various media outlets and social media platforms have been flooded with what he described as fabricated results.

Senator Goje urged his constituents, party supporters, and the general public to remain calm and disregard these
