Golden Globes Hype Builds: Host Prep & Red Carpet Buzz!

Hollywood is gearing up for one of its biggest nights, the Golden Globe Awards, with extensive pre-show coverage and a returning host. Variety, in partnership with Fire TV, will kick off the festivities with its annual Golden Globes Red Carpet Pre-Show on January 11. Hosted by Variety's Angelique Jackson and Marc Malkin, the pre-show promises exclusive access, interviews, and real-time coverage from the red carpet. It will be available for free on Fire TV home screens, Echo Show, Fire Tablet devices, Variety’s YouTube channel, and Variety.com, starting at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET. A new segment, presented by Fire TV, will spotlight first-time Golden Globe nominees, celebrating rising talent and breakout performances. Dea Lawrence, co-president and publisher of Variety, emphasized that the partnership with Fire TV aims to enhance the live experience and connect fans to the Golden Globes in an immersive way.
Comedian Nikki Glaser is returning for her second consecutive run as host of the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, following a successful inaugural performance last year that garnered an average of 10.23 million viewers, placing the ceremony among the year’s top 100 telecasts. The Dick Clark Productions-helmed event is scheduled for this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS. Glaser spoke with Variety about her preparation, expressing her desire to make her mark on the show like past hosts Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler, who hosted multiple times.
