Global Stage Ignites! Vive Latino España 2026 Unveils Powerhouse Headliners

The Spanish edition of the renowned Vive Latino festival in Zaragoza has officially announced its program for 2026, marking its fifth anniversary in Spain. Set to take place on September 4 and 5 at the Expo venue, the festival will feature a star-studded lineup with headliners including Julieta Venegas, Rawayana, Amaia, Ed Maverick, Guitarricadelafuente, Rigoberta Bandini, and Loquillo. This announcement was made by Mexican promoter Ocesa on Thursday, December 18.
The comprehensive lineup for the Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical Vive Latino España comprises 33 solo artists and bands, representing six different nationalities: Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, and Cuba. In addition to the headliners, other notable acts confirmed include Ultraligera, M-Clan, Buena Vista All Stars, Esteman, Daniella Spalla, Hermanos Martínez, Plastilina Mosh, Sonido Gallo Negro, Siloé, Niña Polaca, Veintiuno, and División Minúscula. Organizers have confirmed that the rock festival will utilize three stages to accommodate the diverse array of talent.
Natalia Chueca, the mayor of Zaragoza, emphasized the significance of the festival during the lineup announcement. She stated that Vive Latino offers a crucial opportunity to discover both national and international artists, calling it a "special place and a hallmark of our musical offerings." The mayor also highlighted the substantial economic impact the festival has had on the city, generating over 25 million euros in revenue and attracting more than 155,000 attendees since its inception at the Expo venue in 2019.
Originating in Mexico City in 1998, the Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical, affectionately known as Vive Latino or "El Vive," has a history of challenging traditional stigmas within the music industry. It was pioneering in incorporating pop, reggaeton, cumbia, and Mexican regional music artists into its lineup, even while being the ultimate celebration of rock en español. Furthermore, it uniquely embraced Anglo bands and stands as the first festival in Latin America to establish its own edition in Spain. The inaugural Vive Latino in Mexico debuted on November 28-29, 1998, at Foro Sol (now Estadio GNP Seguros) and has been held almost every year since, with exceptions in 1999, 2002, and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 26th edition of the original Vive Latino in Mexico City is scheduled for March 14-15, 2026, at the GNP Seguros Stadium.
