Overview

We are seeking a Global Health Advisor, NCDs
& Therapeutics with expertise in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for
CMMB’s Access to Medicines Department. This Advisor will provide technical
guidance on medicines as well as on healthcare initiatives focused on NCDs,
including the management and prevention of diseases such as diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, cancer, and chronic respiratory conditions in
underserved populations in the Global South. The Advisor will work closely with
the Access to Medicines team to give guidance on medication procurement
(donations and purchasing) as well as with internal CMMB teams, country
offices, and partners to inform strategies, conduct needs assessments, review
product offers, and support evidence-based interventions that improve access to
medicines and to strengthen healthcare systems in resource-limited settings. A
priority and major focus for this role will be the CMMB NCD Impact Initiative.
The Advisor will also support the department’s Medical Donations Program to identify
and screen product for distribution.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide
Technical Expertise:
Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on medication and on
NCD-related health management, offering guidance on evidence-based interventions
for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of NCDs. Support
screening of Medical Donations Program offers and procurement efforts.

· Strategic
Input: Contribute to the
development of strategies and programs aimed at improving access to medicines
and NCD management in low-resource settings. Advise on how to integrate
NCD-related healthcare services into existing CMMB programs and activities.

· Needs
Assessment: Conduct and support
assessments of country-specific NCD challenges and healthcare infrastructure,
identifying gaps and recommending tailored solutions to strengthen NCD
management, commodity management, and healthcare delivery.

· Training
& Capacity Building:
Develop guidelines, training materials, and tools to support capacity-building
for local medical staff and healthcare workers, as well as CMMB’s international
teams and partners on NCD prevention, management, and care. Deliver trainings
as needed.

· Collaboration
with Stakeholders:
Work closely with CMMB stakeholders (including CMMB country offices, partners,
donor organizations, and others) to develop partnerships, raise awareness, and
mobilize resources for NCD-focused programs.

· Policy
Development & Advocacy:
Support CMMB’s advocacy efforts by contributing to policy development,
technical reports, and briefing documents related to NCD prevention and
control. Facilitate access to and participate in relevant convenings, councils,
advisory boards, round tables, etc. for NCDs as well as for access to
medicines.

· Program
Design & Monitoring:
Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of NCD-related projects,
ensuring they are aligned with best practices, ethics, local needs, and
available resources.

· Data
& Evidence:
Contribute to the collection and analysis of data to evaluate the impact of NCD
programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and scaling successful
interventions.

· Report
Writing: Prepare technical reports,
presentations, and documents related to NCD programs and CMMB access to
medicines efforts, for both internal and external audiences, including donors,
partners, and stakeholders.

· Special
Projects: Take on specific
ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Vice President Access to Medicines
Department, ensuring that all deliverables are met within the agreed timelines.

Qualifications
and Requirements

· Clinical degree or equivalent (e.g., Medical or
Clinical Officer, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Advisor, etc.).

· At least 15+ years of experience working in the
healthcare sector, specifically with a focus on Non-Communicable Diseases
(NCDs). Experience in both clinical and public health settings is
preferred.

· Strong technical expertise in NCD prevention,
management, and treatment, particularly in low-resource or developing country
settings.

· Experience working with international NGOs,
public health organizations, or global health programs or coalitions is highly
desirable.

· Strong understanding of NCD health systems,
health policy, and the unique challenges faced in the management of NCDs in
resource-constrained environments.

· Experience in capacity building, training, and
mentoring healthcare professionals in the management of NCDs.

· Excellent written and verbal communication
skills, including the ability to produce high-quality technical reports and
deliver presentations to stakeholders.

· Proficiency in data analysis and evidence-based
decision-making.

· Ability to work independently, manage multiple
tasks, and meet deadlines.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to
collaborate effectively across cultures and with diverse teams.

· Fluency in English required; proficiency in
additional languages, such as Spanish or French, is a plus.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

The pay for this role starts at $51.92/hour. Actual compensation packages
are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but
not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific
work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in
the cost of labor.
