Global Champion: Stunning Airport Crowned World's Best for Service and Punctuality

For the past decade, AirHelp, an online service specializing in flight compensation and passenger rights, has diligently published its annual AirHelp Score. This global ranking evaluates over 200 airports worldwide, considering key factors such as punctuality, service quality, and available amenities. The comprehensive assessment leverages data from AirHelp’s proprietary databases, various vendors, governmental sources, and an extensive collection of more than 13,500 passenger reviews spanning 58 countries. Each airport's score is primarily determined by its on-time performance, which accounts for 60 percent of the total score, followed by service quality and food and shopping options, each contributing 20 percent.

In the latest edition of the AirHelp Score, Cape Town International Airport (CPT) emerged as the top-ranked airport globally, achieving an impressive score of 8.57 out of 10. This leading position is a testament to CPT's consistent excellence across all critical metrics. The airport's on-time performance received a rating of 8.6, while its customer experience was rated even higher at 8.7. These strong showings not only underscore CPT's operational efficiency and commitment to traveler satisfaction but also hint at the memorable experiences awaiting visitors beyond its terminals.

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, travelers are often greeted with stunning views of Table Mountain, the city's most iconic landmark. Visitors have the opportunity to ascend to its summit via cable car or explore hiking trails like Lion's Head and Platteklip Gorge for spectacular panoramas. Cape Town itself is rich in history and culture, from the vibrant, colorful houses and Cape Malay heritage of Bo-Kaap to the historically significant shores of Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. The bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront offers a plethora of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Table Mountain. For those seeking more magnificent scenery, a drive along Chapman’s Peak, renowned as one of the world's most beautiful coastal routes, is highly recommended.

Trailing closely behind Cape Town International Airport in the rankings are Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar, securing the second spot with a score of 8.52, and Riyadh King Khalid Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, placing third with 8.47. Other airports featured in the top 10 include Brazil's Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek Airport (BSB) in Lago Sul; Oman's Muscat International Airport (MCT); Tocumen International Airport Panama (PTY) in Panama; King Shaka International Airport (DUR) in La Mercy, South Africa; Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Utah, which, with a score of 8.29, is notably the highest-scoring U.S. airport; Bergen Airport (BGO) in Bergen, Norway; and King Fahd International Airport (DMM) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
