GJA Warns Members Over Fake Voters List Ahead of Polls
In a June 29 statement, the Committee dismissed the list as a “mischievous fabrication” and directed all eligible voters to rely exclusively on the official register signed by the GJA General Secretary and Treasurer.
Members were advised to verify concerns solely through the GJA’s official website or direct contact with the Elections Committee. The notice stressed that only the authenticated register would be honored at polling centers.
Security measures have been heightened for the elections. The Committee confirmed the Ghana Police Service will deploy personnel across all voting centers to maintain order. Its statement warned that individuals or groups attempting to disrupt proceedings would be “promptly escorted out.”
The alert follows heightened scrutiny of electoral integrity within Ghana’s media sector. Voting proceeds on June 30 amid these precautionary steps.
