Giving back: Osimhen, Arokodare, other Super Eagles stars link up for Wilfred Ndidi initiative in Lagos
Over the years, football has been a tool to change the lives of many young people for the better, and some past and present Super Eagles stars are in that category.
These players often come back to give back and help people from the communities they grew up from.
On Saturday, Ndidi had his annual event tagged “Maracana children's fest with Ndidi and friends” in collaboration with the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation at Ajegunle.
One thing that impresses me the most about Wilfred Ndidi is the consistent intention to give back to his communities.

Stars like Victor Boniface, Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Frank Onyeka, William Troost-Ekong and his brother, and Raphael Onyedika, turned up to show support.

The turnout from the fans was massive, as hundreds if Nigerian football fans and members of the community showed up.
They were entertained with football games by the children on the famous Maracana pitches in Ajegunle, one that Super Eagles stars like Ndidi played on before getting his breakthrough.

The Super Eagles players helped share gifts to all the children at the event and took pictures with them.

Speaking about the initiative, Ndidi stated that he derived a sense of fulfillment due to the smiles he was able to put on the children's faces.
“I’m excited about this project and the smiles on the faces of the children amazes me. This is something that they are looking forward to,” Ndidi told Punch.
“For me, as a child, when you see the stars you watch on TV, it’s a different feeling and that’s why we invited some of our colleagues to come see the project.”
Aside from Ndidi, other Nigerian footballers have been giving back to their communities like Samuel Chukwueze, Sadiq Umar, and Akor Adams.
