GHAZIABAD: A 24-year-old man died by suicide at his Loni residence on Tuesday night, allegedly after being blackmailed by his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend. Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and taken the accused into custody on Wednesday night.The man left behind a suicide note and videos detailing harassment. Police were informed about the incident at 9.30am on Wednesday. According to ACP (Loni) Siddharth Gautam, "The man hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house. We are analysing the note and the videos left behind by him." He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival, the ACP added.The man's father alleged that his son had been blackmailed and threatened by Sarfaraz, the current boyfriend of a woman his son had previously been in a relationship with.The suicide note explicitly stated that the woman and her family should not be held responsible for his death. An FIR was registered under BNS Section 108 (abetment of suicide) and further investigation is underway, police said.
