Gerry Turner's Bombshell Memoir Threatens Ex Theresa Nist

Gerry Turner, known from 'The Golden Bachelor,' is set to release his candid memoir titled "Golden Years" on November 4. Turner promises to share his unvarnished truth about his brief and highly publicized marriage to Theresa Nist. In an interview published on October 13, Gerry, 74, revealed, "I’m not worried; I think she should be worried," referring to his ex-wife's potential reaction to the book's contents.
Gerry and Theresa, 72, exchanged vows in a televised ceremony in January 2024, only to announce their separation four months later, a decision that surprised fans of 'Bachelor Nation.' Gerry acknowledges his own role in the relationship's demise, admitting to being "a bit naive" and "a bad listener." He expressed that better probing and listening skills might have led to a different outcome, yet he maintains he has no regrets, believing the experience ultimately led him to his current happiness.
Theresa Nist has also openly reflected on their short-lived union, expressing gratitude despite the unexpected end. She posted on Instagram, describing the experience as "one of the most incredible experiences of my life," and admitting that even at 70, one doesn't know everything, but took away many positives from their time together.
Turner's memoir will also tackle the intense public scrutiny and speculation that followed their sudden divorce. He aims to correct what he perceives as a misrepresentation of events, stating, "Quite honestly, there were some perceptions that I wanted to put on the right track." Gerry felt he was unfairly cast as a "villain" and believes the public misunderstood the dynamic of their split. He recounted an agreement with Theresa to "protect each other" before their announcement on 'Good Morning America,' an agreement he felt was not upheld, leading him to feel he bore the brunt of the negative public reaction. He emphasizes that the responsibility for the split was "50/50."
Beyond his memoir, Gerry Turner has turned a new page in his personal life. Following a bone marrow cancer diagnosis last year, he has found love again with retired Indiana teacher Lana Sutton. The couple announced their engagement on October 3. Turner, who previously thought he would never remarry, shared, "Now that I have someone who makes me so happy, I can’t say no to that anymore."
