Delta State has overtaken Bayelsa State on the medal table at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Ogun State tagged Gateway Games 2024.

For the first time after five days of the National Sports Festival, Delta is now topping the medal table, taking over from Bayelsa who had led in the last three days.

Delta, currently top has so far won 34 gold, 12 silver and 28 bronze medals for a total of 74.

Bayelsa is following closely with 32 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals for a total of 61.

Rivers State is occupying the third position after picking up a total of 40 medals, 15 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze.

The defending champions and perennial winners of the National Sports Festival, Delta State has yet again demonstrated why they remain the favorites to retain their title, making a leap over Bayelsa on Friday.
