Ganduje Unleashes Fury: Blasts Critics, Firmly Denies APC Defection Rumors
Abdullahi Ganduje, former APC national chairman, has strongly refuted reports of his defection to the NDC, reaffirming his loyalty to the APC. His Chief of Staff denounced the claims as politically motivated misinformation from social media posters, threatening legal action against those responsible. Ganduje urged the public to disregard the false reports and reiterated his commitment to President Tinubu and the APC.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has vehemently denied circulating reports alleging his defection to the New Democratic Congress (NDC). In a statement issued by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje firmly asserted his continued loyalty to the ruling party, dismissing the claims as unequivocally false and politically motivated.
The controversy arose following the widespread circulation of posters on various social media platforms, which falsely depicted the former Kano State governor as having abandoned the APC for the NDC. Garba clarified that these posters were part of a calculated misinformation campaign, designed with the intent to mislead the public, sow confusion among APC members, and generate unnecessary political speculation. Ganduje himself metaphorically stated that he was “not a vulture flying from one tree to another” in pursuit of personal ambition or political convenience, emphasizing his unwavering political convictions.
The statement further underscored that Ganduje has remained steadfast in his commitment to the APC and has never considered leaving the party, which he once led as its national chairman. It characterized the claims of his joining the NDC as both “false and illogical,” stressing the absence of any political or rational basis for such speculation. The APC, the statement reiterated, stands as Nigeria’s largest political platform and continues to expand under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Those behind the production and dissemination of these fraudulent posters were identified as political mischief-makers whose primary objective was to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation and create anxiety within the ranks of the ruling party. Muhammad Garba disclosed that the individuals responsible have been identified, and a stern warning was issued that legal action would be pursued against them unless the fabricated materials are immediately withdrawn and their further dissemination ceases.
Ganduje urged all APC members, supporters, and the general public to completely disregard the misleading posters, emphasizing that they do not accurately reflect his political stance or future intentions. He took the opportunity to reaffirm his unwavering commitment to supporting President Tinubu and the entire APC leadership in their efforts to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda and to fortify the party ahead of upcoming political engagements. He also advised the public to rely solely on official communications for accurate information regarding his political activities.
