Future King's Grand Vision: Prince William's Radical Royal Reshuffle Revealed

Prince William has publicly outlined his vision for significant, albeit not overly radical, changes within the Royal Family upon his ascension to the throne. In what has been described as one of his most open interviews, the Prince of Wales expressed his commitment to evolving the monarchy. A source close to the Prince has shed further light on his intentions, revealing two key areas where William plans to 'shake things up' when his time comes.
During an appearance on the Apple TV show 'The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy,' where he toured Windsor Castle and its grounds with the 'Schitt's Creek' star, William explicitly stated, "Change is on my agenda - change for good." While he did not specify the exact nature of these changes during the broadcast, a palace insider later disclosed to People magazine that Prince William aims for the monarchy to be "more accessible, more approachable."
Beyond discussing his future plans for the crown, William also spoke candidly about personal aspects of his life during the program. He shared the overwhelming emotional impact of his wife Kate's cancer battle, mentioned that his children do not possess mobile phones, and articulated his ambition to foster "a world in which my son is proud of what we do." He views his roles as Prince of Wales and future king as a 'job,' emphasizing the seriousness with which he approaches his 'roles' and 'responsibilities,' while also stressing the importance of owning these responsibilities rather than feeling owned by them.
Reflecting on his role as heir, William reiterated, "I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda – change for good... And I embrace that and I enjoy that change – I don't fear it. That's the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think need to happen." This dialogue occurred during a conversation with Levy at Windsor Castle in February, where William guided his visitor and even shared a drink at a local pub, The Two Brewers, with his black cocker spaniel Orla.
Royal expert Andrew Morton commented on William's demeanor, noting to the publication, "He struck me as one of the lads. That's different from previous generations. He seems very much one of us, even though he is the future King." William's desire to create a world and a job that positively impacts people's lives for his son, Prince George (who turned 12 in July and is destined to succeed him), seemingly implies a protective instinct. He seeks to shield George from the 'practices' that he and his brother Prince Harry endured, potentially referencing the intrusive media attention that also deeply affected their mother, Princess Diana.
