FULL LIST: 13 parties fail to sign peace accord for Lagos LG polls
Thirteen out of the fifteen political parties contesting in the Lagos local government election on Saturday declined to sign the peace accord.
Only the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Youth Party signed the peace accord facilitated by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).
The 13 others cited unresolved grievances, including lack of consultation, procedural unfairness, and concerns over LASIEC’s handling of the electoral process, as reasons for refusing to sign.
In the context of elections, a peace accord refers to a formal agreement signed by political parties, candidates, and sometimes other stakeholders, committing to maintain peace and adhere to ethical conduct before, during, and after the electoral process.
It includes pledges to avoid violence, hate speech, voter intimidation, or any actions that could disrupt the election or undermine its integrity. The accord aims to foster a peaceful, fair, and transparent electoral environment, encouraging parties to resolve disputes through legal or democratic means rather than resorting to conflict.
The following are political parties that didn’t sign the peace accord:

Action Alliance
Action Democratic Party (ADP)
Action Peoples Party (APP)
African Action Congress (AAC)
African Democratic Congress (ADC)
