FRSC 2026 Recruitment Frenzy: Portal Opens, Guide Released!

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has officially commenced its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise, confirming that its dedicated recruitment portal is now active for prospective applicants. This initiative aims to bolster the corps' workforce and enhance service delivery across Nigeria, following an announcement made on Thursday, June 25. The application window is set to remain open for four weeks, starting from Friday, July 3, 2026.

Applicants are strongly advised to meticulously review the requirements for each cadre before proceeding with their applications on the official FRSC Recruitment Portal. The corps has outlined three main categories for this exercise: the Officer Cadre, Marshal Inspectorate Cadre, and Road Marshal Assistant Cadre.

Specific available positions include Superintendent Route Commander (SRC), Route Commander/Deputy Route Commander (RC/DRC), and Assistant Route Commander (ARC) under the Officer Cadre. For the Marshal Inspectorate Cadre, vacancies are open for Marshal Inspector II and III. The Road Marshal Assistant Cadre includes positions for Road Marshal Assistant I, II, and III. Additionally, artisans, drivers, and riders with pertinent qualifications and experience are eligible to apply under the Road Marshal Assistant category.

Eligibility criteria for all applicants mandate being a Nigerian citizen by birth, medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and of good character with no criminal record or financial embarrassment. All applicants must be computer literate, and possession of a valid National Driver’s Licence will be considered an added advantage. There are also specific height requirements: male applicants must be at least 1.65 metres tall, while female applicants must have a minimum height of 1.58 metres. Applicants must be single. A certificate of medical fitness from a government-approved hospital and relevant professional licences, where applicable, are also essential.

Academic qualifications and age limits vary by cadre. For the Officer Cadre, candidates must hold relevant university degrees (B.Sc., B.A., HND, MBBS, LLB, B.Pharm or B.Eng) from recognized institutions, along with a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. The age limit for this cadre is 18 to 35 years. The Marshal Inspectorate Cadre requires qualifications such as National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM), or a Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) qualification, with an age limit of 18 to 30 years. For the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre, a minimum of three to five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, is required, with an age limit of 16 to 30 years. Drivers and Riders within this cadre need O’Level qualification, a valid driver’s licence, and relevant trade certificates, where applicable, with heavy truck drivers specifically aged between 26 and 40 years.

The application process involves several key steps. First, applicants must confirm their eligibility against the stated requirements. Second, they must choose their preferred cadre. Third, all necessary documents should be prepared. These include a National Identification Number (NIN), primary and secondary school certificates, tertiary institution certificates and transcripts (where applicable), NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, Local Government Certificate of Origin, birth certificate or age declaration, a recent passport photograph, and a valid email address and phone number. Fourth, applicants are to visit the official FRSC recruitment portal at recruitment.frsc.gov.ng to create an account. It is crucial to avoid unofficial websites. Fifth, after registration, candidates must verify their account via an activation link sent to their email. Sixth, they can then log in and accurately complete the application form, providing personal information, educational qualifications, contact details, next-of-kin information, and work experience where relevant. Seventh, scanned copies of all required documents and a recent passport photograph must be uploaded, ensuring compliance with specified file requirements. Finally, applicants should carefully review their application before submission and immediately print the completed application form and acknowledgement slip, as these will be required for screening and the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates.

The FRSC has emphatically stated that the entire recruitment exercise is free of charge. The corps strongly warns all applicants to be vigilant against fraudsters and to report any individual or group demanding payment or promising employment in exchange for money, as no fees are required at any stage of the process. For any enquiries or assistance, members of the public can contact the FRSC helpline at 122.
