Four injured as goods carrier overturns on Yercaud Ghat Road | Coimbatore News - Times of India
Salem: Four people were injured when a goods carrier overturned on the Yercaud Ghat Road in Salem district on Saturday.The injured have been identified as P Chandrasekar, 40, of Salem city, who operates a mobile sugarcane juice stall; his workers K Natarajan, 40, and P Murugesan, 42, both from Salem; and V Hariharan, 28, of Dhadagapatty in Salem, who was driving the vehicle.
Police said they were on their way to Ondikkadai in Yercaud, to set up their mobile juice stall near the Shervarayan temple, where the temple festival is scheduled to take place on June 12. When Hariharan was navigating the 18th hairpin bend, he lost control, and the vehicle suddenly overturned. Motorists who were passing by, rescued the four and shifted them to the Yercaud Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance. They were subsequently transferred to Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital for further care. Yercaud police have registered a case and are investigating.
