Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari dies at 82
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has died at the age of 82.
Buhari passed away on Sunday afternoon in a clinic in London, according to his former spokesperson Garba Shehu.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon in a clinic in London.” said Shehu in a post on social media.
Buhari served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, completing two terms in office.
He previously served as Nigeria’s military Head of State (1983–1985), Minister of Petroleum (1976–1978), and Governor of Borno State in 1976.
