Caterina Murino, of Bond girl fame, announced the news that she’s set to become a mum for the first time following two miscarriages and a ‘trying’ IVF journey.

The Italian actress, 47, rocketed to fame when she starred alongside Daniel Craig, who was making his debut as James Bond, in Casino Royale in 2006.

Caterina and her partner of eight years, French lawyer Edouard Rigaud, are due to welcome a baby boy in September, the same month she’ll turn 48.

Referring to the IVF treatment she underwent on her journey to motherhood, Caterina said: ‘At my age, I had to ask medicine to help nature.’

‘You don’t always decide when the right time to become a mother comes,’ she continued, before adding that she’s grateful and looking forward to the next chapter of her life after this ‘trying’ time.

As all expecting mothers know, comfort is key, and Caterina paired her dress with some flat white shoes.

The actress gained international fame after starring as Bond girl Solange Dimitrios in Casino Royale. After this, she landed a role opposite Rufus Sewell in the short-lived BBC One series Zen.

Since her days as a Bond girl, Caterina has gone on to appear in a number of French, Italian, and Spanish TV shows and films.
