The body of a missing 37-year-old forestry guard, Daniel Obeng, has been found in a bush at Tutukpene in the Nkwanta South Municipality.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Michael Kwabena Asiedu, Divisional Police Commander of the Nkwanta South Municipality in the Oti Region, confirmed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

The finding of the body on July 11 brings an end to the manhunt by a search party, comprising the police, forestry officials, and community members, since his disappearance on July 4, 2025.

Mr. Christian Obeng, the father of the deceased, told the GNA that the late Obeng had since been buried at his hometown, Guama, in the Jasikan Municipality.

The Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the forestry guard's death.

The findings of the investigation are expected to shed more light on what led to his tragic demise.
