Berekum, (Bono), Mar. 8, GNA – Mr Dickson Kyere Duah, the Member of Parliament for Berekum West Constituency in the Bono Region says the nation’s over-reliance on foreign aid and borrowings are unreliable options for progressive growth and development.
As the nation celebrates her 68th Independence Anniversary, the legislator called for attitudinal change, urging both private and public sector employees to work hard to improve productivity.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Jinijini, the constituency capital, Mr Duah said “as one people we must forge ahead in unity, weaned ourselves from foreign aid, and support President John Dramani Maham’s reset agenda to build a better Ghana for all.”
He said self-reliance, mental and economic independence and hard work would push the nation forward and spur her socio-economic growth and progressive prosperity, urging Ghanaians to reminisce about the sacrifices and selflessness of “our founding fathers,” saying that would inspire “all of us to contribute to national development.”
Mr Duah reaffirmed his commitment to support the growth of education, improve infrastructure development and do more for job creation and poverty reduction in the area.
