Firm joins Ota people to celebrate Ita Oba fiesta
In a celebration of cultural heritage, spiritual tradition and community pride, Seaman’s Schnapps, Nigeria’s original number-one prayer drink, has lit up the 2025 edition of the Ita Oba Festival held at Ipeti Royal Square, Olota Palace, Ota, Ogun State, reaffirming its role as a guardian of sacred moments and ancestral honour.
The Ita Oba celebration, organised under the authority of the Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi AbdulKabir Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, brought together royal fathers, cultural societies, political dignitaries and the sons and daughters of Ota in a colourful gathering of identity, reverence and festivity.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the libation ritual, where Seaman’s Schnapps was ceremonially poured in prayer for Nigeria’s peace, prosperity and unity. This sacred act reinforced the brand’s timeless role as a conveyor of blessings and spiritual continuity, a drink that has journeyed through generations in rites, rituals and royal celebrations.
The festival also featured a cultural fashion parade proudly sponsored by Seaman’s Schnapps, with the brand awarding cash prizes to the top three performing groups.
The Council of Iyalodes in Ota Awori Kingdom claimed first place, impressing attendees with elegance, coordination, and cultural finesse.
Senior Brand Manager for Seaman’s Schnapps, Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho, spoke on the significance of the occasion, saying: “Ita Oba is more than a festival—it is a divine convocation of heritage and community spirit. She urged participants to use such gatherings as opportunities for connection and pride, highlighting that “your network is your net worth.” Oba Obalanlege praised the turnout of cultural groups, societies and families, describing their participation as vital to preserving the town’s heritage.
