British boxer, Ryan Taylor, has responded to Nigerians criticizing him over a comment he made about his ex-partner, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.

The controversy began when Taylor took to Instagram to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday.

He shared a photo of him and his daughter, stating his desire to end racism by having mixed-race children.

A social media user commented on his child’s resemblance to his ex-partner, DJ Cuppy, which led to Taylor throwing a shade at the disc jockey player.

He said, “She wasn’t enough of a woman to even fathom creating such a beautiful creation like mine. Please leave me and don’t come back.”

Taylor’s remark on his ex-fiancée has since then reportedly drawn backlash.

Reacting to the backlash that followed, Taylor noted that Nigerians are targeting him and his current partner.

Taylor claimed that he has the right to say whatever he wants to say, as he had never signed any contract limiting his freedom of speech.

His words read, “Today is a special day. Nigerians gotta chill out, you come for the mother of my child and think I won’t back it? Don’t come on my page talking shit and cry when I speak. I NEVER signed the Contract. I will always say what I want and do what is right for me or my family. I haven’t said shit yet everyone gotta chill.”
