Fire guts shop in Ogbomoso, destroysgoods worth millions
Goods worth millions of naira were destroyed in a fire outbreak that ravaged a shop in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Oja-Igbo, behind the Soun’s Palace in Ogbomoso.
The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.
Akinwande in a statement on Sunday, maintained that men of the agency were informed immediately after the fire started.
He said, “Early hour of today July 13th, 2025 at exactly 00:30hrs, the emergency was reported through running caller.
“The firemen led by PFS11 Oluwaleye quickly deployed to the scene of the fire incident. On arrival, we met fire in a shop and we swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the other shops.
“The fire slightly affected a shop out of a row of fifteen(15) shops. Therefore, the agency was able to save properties worth millions of naira.
“The appliance returned to the Station by 01:20hr and on standby”.
