Fire Erupts At Delhi's INA Market, No Casualties Reported
A massive fire broke out at the INA market in Delhi on Wednesday. Following the information, 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. According to NDTV, the Delhi Fire Service confirmed that the fire broke out at 8.55 pm at Dilli Haat.
Officials reported that the fire began in the shops built on the stage at the back of Dilli Haat. Later, the fire spread rapidly, turning in shops built on the stage into ashes in a minute, as per India Today.
The majority of the stalls set up on the platform were selling items like clothing, jewellery, and antiques. Many of these were operated by individuals from Kashmir who had come to Delhi seeking livelihood opportunities. Dilli Haat is well-known nationwide for its handicrafts and artisanal products.
Following the incident, Delhi’s Minister for Art, Culture, and Language, Kapil Mishra, quickly arrived at the scene. He also confirmed that 26 shops have been burned.
“Officials, fire brigades and I myself reached the spot as soon as we received the news of the fire break out. Around 26 shops have been burned in the fire hazard. CM Rekha Gupta has sent me here and I want to assure all that we are with you. Compensation will be given to all those whose shops have been damaged. We will also investigate this matter further, “PTI quoted Mishra as saying.

“The fire at Delhi Haat has been brought under control. There are no reports of any casualties in the fire. The fire department and administration are present at the spot. I am going to Dilli Haat,” Mishra said on X.

Additionally, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called the incident ‘unfortunate’, adding that no casualties have been reported.
