Final refreshing and quiet day ahead in Maine, rain and cooler temps on way for weekend

Published 17 hours ago2 minute read

Friday will pick up exactly where Thursday left off with pleasant temperatures and low humidity levels.

Enjoy the quiet day ahead while it lasts as we are tracking a wet and cool start to the weekend.

Friday will be an 8 on Santom's Sky Scale due to low humidity and increasing clouds.

Temperatures will run into the 70s once again around the state.

In Central Maine, it will be a tad bit warmer in the mid-to-upper 70s.

Out on the water Friday morning, waves will be calm at 2 feet.

Visibility will not be an issue.

It will be cooler at the beaches to end out the week.

Don't let the conditions deceive you though as the UV index is very high at a 9.

Much of the day will be spent in the sun before clouds filter in late in the evening.

Rain showers may begin to develop across the north into the mountains.

The sunset is at 8:26 PM on Friday.

A week from now is the Fourth of July! Look for a sunset at 8:25 PM.

All eyes are on the cooler start to the weekend.

To start the weekend, there will be some periods of rain throughout Saturday, some downpours possible.

We'll see the steadiest of the rain in the AM before it turns scattered in the afternoon.

It will not be a washout, and when it's not raining, it will be cloudy.

By Saturday evening, most of the rain will have tapered off.

As for how much rain you'll see, the mountains will see the most, upwards of an inch and maybe more.

Sunshine reappears by Sunday with warmer temperatures near 80 degrees.

There is a possibility of a stray shower to end the weekend, but most will stay dry.

You'll also notice the humidity rising through the weekend.

Dew points will be on the rise through early next week, becoming very oppressive by Tuesday.

Those are similar dew points to what we experienced earlier this week.

We'll stay dry on Monday, but will keep eyes on a line of showers and storms for Tuesday.
