Filmone Entertainment Secures Exclusive Rights to Niyi Akinmolayan’s Christmas Special, 'Colours Of Fire'

FilmOne Entertainment has announced its acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for "Colours of Fire," a highly anticipated new holiday feature directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan. This cinematic offering, co-produced by FilmOne Studios and Anthill Studios, is slated for a nationwide release in cinemas on December 24th, aiming to deliver an unforgettable experience to audiences during the festive season.

The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring prominent actors such as Osas Ighodaro, Uzor Arukwe, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, and Gabriel Afolayan. "Colours of Fire" is described as a visually rich and emotionally layered narrative that delves into profound themes of love, sacrifice, and human resilience. It endeavors to capture the essential spirit of hope and togetherness that is synonymous with the holiday period.

Kene Okwuosa, Group CEO of Filmhouse Group, which encompasses Filmhouse Cinemas, FilmOne Entertainment, FilmOne Studios, and KAVA, expressed his views on the film's significance. He stated, “Colours of Fire is a reflection of where Nollywood is headed — bold, heartfelt, and technically refined.” Okwuosa further emphasized FilmOne’s commitment to its mission: “At FilmOne, our mission is to champion African storytellers who create work that resonates locally and stands confidently on the global stage. This film represents that spirit of progress.”

Adding to this sentiment, Ladun Awobokun, Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Entertainment, highlighted the collaborative nature of the project. She remarked, “This project is a reminder of the power of collaboration. It’s a film that celebrates our shared humanity and the beauty of storytelling that connects across cultures.”

For director Niyi Akinmolayan, "Colours of Fire" signifies a major artistic milestone. Akinmolayan shared his vision, stating, “I wanted to create a film that felt like home but looked like the world.” He further elaborated on the film's essence, describing it as “A story that captures our essence bold, colourful, and unapologetically Nigerian.” The film is poised to channel both the grandeur and intimacy of human emotion, offering a unique contribution to the cinematic landscape.
