February 2026 Horror Releases You Shouldn’t Miss
February is the month of love and romance; the month where couples will celebrate their love and revisit their commitments. The month where the red roses will be over the town. But guess what will also be red? Your screens.
This February is stacked with some seriously unhinged horror releases that will make you forget all about Valentine's Day chocolates. 2026's second month is giving us everything we didn't know we needed.
So grab your horror-loving bestie, skip the romantic dinner reservations, and let's talk about the eight films that are about to turn February into the scariest month of the year.
The Strangers: Chapter 3 (February 6)
Kicking things off on February 6 is The Strangers: Chapter 3, and honestly, it's about time. Maya faces the masked killers one last time in what is being called the trilogy's most brutal chapter. After surviving the nightmare of the first two films, she is done running.
This finale promises to answer all our burning questions about those creepy masks and why these people are so obsessed with terrorizing random strangers. If you have been following Maya's journey, this is the blood-soaked conclusion you have been waiting for.
Dracula (February 6)
Also dropping on February 6 is Luc Besson's Dracula, and this is not your typical vampire horror movie. After losing his wife, a 15th-century prince renounces God and becomes Dracula, cursed with eternal life.
Think less jump scares, more gothic romance with a side of existential dread. Director Luc Besson describes it as a love story about a man searching for his lost love over 400 years. With Caleb Landry Jones in the lead and Christoph Waltz as the priest hunting him down, this one is giving tortured immortal vibes and we are so here for it.
Whistle (February 6)
If cursed objects are your thing,Whistle (also February 6) is calling your name literally. High school students discover an ancient Aztec death whistle that summons their future deaths to hunt them down.
It is basically Final Destination meets Talk to Me, and early reviews are saying the kills are absolutely brutal. The concept is wild: blow the whistle, and however you are supposed to die in the future happens right now. No thanks!
Starring Dafne Keen from Logan, this one is perfect if you like your horror with a healthy dose of "why would you do that?!"
Gale: Yellow Brick Road (February 11)
February 11 brings us Gale: Yellow Brick Road, a one-night-only theatrical event that is taking The Wizard of Oz to some seriously dark places. Emily Gale, Dorothy's granddaughter, is tormented by visions and pulled toward a dark hidden realm which is a ruined version of Oz filled with tragedy and horrors.
This is not Kansas anymore, and it definitely is not the yellow brick road you remember. The poster alone (designed by horror artist Creepy Duck Design) looks absolutely chilling. If you have ever wondered what Oz would look like as a nightmare hellscape, this is your chance to find out.
Broken Bird (February 13)
Landing on February 13,Broken Bird is the psychological horror we need. Sybil, a lonely mortician's assistant, finds solace among the dead and through performing poetry at open-mic nights.
The movie premiered at FrightFest 2024 and has been called a "twisted love story" that blends human vulnerability with genre craft. It is that slow-burn horror that gets under your skin, perfect for when you want something that will haunt you for days rather than just make you jump.
Psycho Killer (February 20)
February 20 is when things get really intense. Psycho Killer comes from the writer of Se7en, so you know it is going to be tough. A Kansas highway patrol officer tracks down her husband's killer, discovering he's a sadistic serial killer known as the "Satanic Slasher".
With a script that has been in development since 2007, this one has had time to marinate into something truly terrifying. Early word says it is giving major '90s thriller energy with modern horror brutality.
This Is Not a Test (February 20)
Also on February 20, This Is Not a Test takes the zombie apocalypse and throws it into a high school. Students must take cover from infected zombies, with five teenagers trapped inside their school while the world ends outside.
Based on Courtney Summers' beloved 2012 novel, it explores what happens when trauma meets survival horror. Olivia Holt leads the cast in what's being called a fresh take on the zombie genre.
Scream 7 (February 27)
And finally, the big one:Scream 7 arrives February 27. Sidney Prescott has built a new life in Pine Grove, Indiana, until a new Ghostface killer targets her daughter Tatum. Neve Campbell is back after sitting out the last film, and original screenwriter Kevin Williamson is directing.
This is legacy horror at its finest — passing the baton while honouring what made the franchise iconic. After all the behind-the-scenes drama, this movie feels like a homecoming for fans who have been with the series since 1996.
So there you have it! Eight reasons to make February your new favorite horror month. Whether you are into slashers, supernatural scares, psychological thrillers, or zombie mayhem, this month has something to keep you up at night. Valentine's Day can wait; Ghostface is calling.
