Published 6 hours ago2 minute read

Call it a one-of-its-kind fashion event and you won’t be wrong as Fashion Finest Africa (FFA), a leading Pan-African platform dedicated to supporting new and emerging fashion creatives across the continent, last weekend wrapped up its Epic Show 2025 with two days runway where 31 emerging designers from across Africa moved from the regular showbiz runway clothing showcase to sustainable all-purpose wears – presenting collections that merged local identity with global appeal: from daily, to corporate, traditional, leisure and high society attires.

Each designer brought a fresh perspective from daring silhouettes to textile innovation showing the depth of talent rising across the continent.
The two-day creative experience event held at The Podium Lekki in Lagos spotlighted Africa’s boldest new voices in fashion while tackling real industry challenges. Each day featured a cross section of designers, industry voices, culture leaders, and fashion enthusiasts all united by a shared commitment to shaping the future of African fashion.

The Epic Show 2025, which was attended by high-profile personalities including Culture Ambassador and Queen of Ile Ife, Queen Ronke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi; Mojibade Sosanya, media personality Frank Edoho and fashion lovers from every nook and cranny of the continent opened with inspiring panel conversations on funding, fashion business and sustainability.

The sessions featured speakers Jide Sipe, Mai Atafo, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Dr. Yetty Ogunnubi, Abubakar Sanusi, Isaac John, Mabel Adeteye, Chidubem Ejezie and Dayo Nupo, each offering insight into the structural changes required for Africa’s fashion economy to thrive.

Day two featured Design for the Future (D4DF) competition, an initiative launched to spotlight visionary fashion talents at the start of their journey. After a compelling runway showcase, the winning designer was awarded ₦1million grant and a closing slot at the grand finale showcase.

Speaking, Founder of FFA and CEO of Mahogany International, Sola Oyebade, said: “The idea is to create a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about fashion and committed to excellence. It’s not just about designers, but also makeup artists, hair stylists, models and illustrators. From our panelists to the designers, to the audience that showed up with energy and purpose, Epic Show 2025 reminded us that Africa is full of brilliance; it only needs the right platforms. That’s what FFA will always stand for.”

The Epic Show 2025 was produced by Mahogany International and supported by official partners Darling Hair, TEPS, and Mystic Beauty whose contributions helped shape the energy, experience, and success of this year’s edition.
