Farmingdale's Music on Main, Patchogue's Alive After Five and more returning this summer - Newsday
Downtowns across Long Island come to life in the summer with al fresco events filling the streets and sidewalks. Head to Main Street for a stroll and expect to be met with live music, street vendors, food trucks and more. From a block party to Alive After Five, here are weeknight events to attend across Long Island:
Kennedy Plaza, 1 W. Chester St.

A weekly Saturday arts festival that runs into the fall, this event features vendor booths hosted by local artists and live music. Attendees can shop for jewelry, artwork, photography, home decor, accessories and clothing.

Railroad Avenue, Wantagh
The block party features live music and entertainment, activities for kids, video game truck, food trucks and vendors.
Park Boulevard and Front Street
The street fair features live music with outdoor dining, food trucks and spirits.
Deer Park Avenue
The village's summer block party series features live music, outdoor dining and vendors. For children, find the Kid's Zone with bounce houses, carnival games, princess visits and a DJ. Deer Park Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic between Main Street and Park Avenue, with stages at each end where bands will play.
Event alternates between two locations: Bond Street (perpendicular to the LIRR station) and North Middle Neck Road (between Grace Avenue and Maple Drive).
Dine in the street European style and join the festivities in Great Neck Plaza. Entertainment includes live music, kicking off with Street Fighter and Liverpool Shuffle on June 26, Gotcha Covered featuring David Lamm on July 10 and Fleetwood Macked on July 17 and The Wood Vibrations! on July 24.

Patchogue Village’s Main Street festival takes place on four Thursdays this summer, with live music playing on five stages. Each fest will feature more than 100 food and craft vendors, expanded outdoor dining areas, a midway stage and family activities.
Main Street
The event features live music, outdoor dining, arts and crafts and children’s activities.
Between Prospect and South Front streets

Held along two blocks of the village’s Main Street, this free event featuring live music. Guests can also eat outdoors and shop the area, weather permitting.
Between Port Washington Boulevard and Mackey Avenue
Stroll, dine or shop in a car-free zone with outdoor dining, live music, street performers and vendors.
Griffing Avenue to McDermott avenues

Alive on 25 comes to Riverhead for two nights this year. The street festival features live entertainment and outdoor dining along with locally sourced craft beverages available for purchase.
